The Mobility Center of Excellence (MCoe) has exciting news about the latest KP Mobile app release, KP OWL expansion, and Yammer. This edition also highlights apps supporting our communities, 2020 Q3 certifications, an open position on the Design team, and Figma design tool case study.

Successful Launch of KP Mobile 4.32

We are excited to announce that the KP Mobile iOS and Android 4.32 releases were successfully published to members.


In response to COVID-19 as a global pandemic and the expressed needs of our frontline users, the Insight Driven OWL team developed and released a Northern California OWL COVID-19 Mobile Dashboard in July. See how the KP OWL app team is also addressing other requests.

Mobile App Highlights For Our KP Community During Pandemic Times

The MCoE supports the commitment to our communities during these unprecedented times by providing relevant mobile apps. KP Health Ally and a suite of mental health apps have helped our KP members by supporting their physical and mental health needs.

We are currently looking for a junior mobile designer who is looking to work in a fun, fast-paced and rewarding field. A self-motivated person to help support senior members of the team, while learning about native mobile application design and the healthcare industry.

Android Codebase Enhancements for KP Mobile App

In addition to the overall redesigned UI, the Android version of the KP Mobile App is receiving some major technical improvements to its codebase which will contribute to ease of maintainability and testability.

MCoE Reporting: Mobile App Portfolio

Did you know the MCoE helps KP teams develop, design, and deploy mobile apps? Our team of experts provide app kits and advice for dozens of custom mobile apps and hundreds of white-label and third-party mobile apps for our Members, Providers, and Workforce. Access our suite of reports – updated monthly – which include mobile app team and region info, install counts, and certified apps in production.

Accessibility resources

Everyone at KP is responsible for ensuring our mobile apps are accessible and inclusive. Using the new WCAG 2.1 (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) published in June 2018, we’ve applied a mobile perspective to these standards and created mobile accessibility resources for our partners.
