iOS 16 Beta released
Apple released a Developer Beta of iOS 16 on Monday, June 6, along with announcements at World Wide Developer’s Conference (WWDC). The public beta will be released in July, the guess is first week of July. If you are part of a custom app development team, please ensure that testing with the iOS beta is underway.
New unlisted Apple app distribution
We have had Testflight, Google Alpha, Google Beta, and Intune-dev releases for testing, Apple App Store and Google Play for public releases, and Intune for internal releases. Releasing Apple apps now includes a new option – unlisted app distribution.
Kaiser Permanente recently utilized this option for a study application, Gems+ Study. This option made it easier to share the app with our participants who simply needed to tap the link on their iOS device. The app is not discoverable in the store and can only be accessed via the url which helps prevent non study participants from installing the app.
